Esprit Nurseries
For our youngest guests, we offer Esprit Nurseries in every resort, with full or half day care five days a week (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 9.30am to 6.pm). You can also book just three full days if you prefer (Mon/Wed/Fri).
Babies and toddlers, from four months to three years old, are looked after in dedicated Nurseries by our own Esprit staff. Each Nursery is run by qualified British nannies
(NNEB or equivalent) with stringent ratios, which we adhere to rigorously.
Esprit Nursery staff ratios are:-
One nanny for every - 2 infants aged 4 - 12 months
3 infants aged 13 - 23 months
4 toddlers aged 2 - 3 years
Ratios are adapted as necessary to meet the needs of mixed age groups. (We may occasionally ask for your understanding if ratios are
temporarily varied due to staff illness for example.). This is an important aspect to check when comparing with other crèche providers.
Nannies and Nursery Assistants
Our Esprit Nurseries are located in dedicated rooms within one of our properties. All our Nurseries are run by professionally qualified Nursery Nurses - NNEB, B Tech,
NVQ III, CACHE DCE 3 or equivalent trained, all of whom will be native English speakers. We also run further pre-season training to ensure that our Nursery management conforms to our own high standards, developed over many years’ experience. In most Nurseries, we also have Nursery Assistants to support the Nannies, and all the team
share a dedication and enthusiasm for working with young children.
Nursery Day Plan
The day starts at 9.30am when parents hand their children over into the cheery care of our nannies. The day is structured to provided a happy, stimulating experience
for our youngest guests, with a mixture of indoor and outdoor play, all following the same weekly themes as our Alpies Club.
Toddlers may indulge in some hand and feet-painting or collage-making in the mornings, whilst the afternoon activities might include cooking, music and movement or, the most popular activity by far, splashing around in the paddling pool! Lunch is specially prepared and can be liquidised if required, and we also offer a selection of baby food, freely available. It is sometimes eaten in one of the local parks or meadows as part of a picnic outing with other children in the Alpies Club.
Morning and/or afternoon naps are taken according to the individual child’s routine and parental instructions. High tea is included in the daily Nursery routine, and parents are asked to collect their children at 6pm after high tea has finished.
Nursery places are bookable for either 3 full days or five half days at £135, or 5 full days at £195.
Half day bookings are for morning sessions, including lunch. Subject always to staff ratios, swaps to afternoons may be arranged locally with our Child Care Manager.
To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend that you pre-book Nursery places when booking your holiday.
The great majority of our guests do so, which can mean that if you leave Nursery arrangements until you arrive in resort, we may not be able to accommodate your child, as we will not compromise our stated child : staff ratios, staffing levels or other guests’ children.
