Hiking
Hiking in the Alps
Hiking has many different meanings to different people, whether is taking a stroll around a lake or through the wood for those looking to relax, or getting your boots on and going to the top of the highest mountain in sight.
What is great about hiking is that everyone can take part from the youngest member of the family through to the oldest. Everyone can go hiking and take in the fantastic views of the Alps together on an Esprit Alpine Adventure.
If you are looking to get away from it all for a day, take advantage of the Esprit child care facilities, whether it’s the nursery, Alpies club or teen Rangers Esprit have an option to enable you to get out for a day and take in the beauty of the Alps.
As with many of the mountain biking routes you can take a gondola or lift to the top and walk back down taking the effort out of a lot of the walk, allowing you to take in a scenery on the way down.
There are guided options available taking all of the effort out of planning a route and checking the maps. Use the guide to find out more about the area and really enjoy everything that the Alps have to offer.
Take a picnic and stop off for lunch when you find a good view point (not hard to find) of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Take a seat and watch the paragliders drift gracefully decend down into the valley below.
For the more energetic set off early in the morning and be the first to the top of the mountain. Plan your route to take in a spectacular sun rise as you start your accent of the mountain and aim to be at the top for lunch at one of the many mountain restaurants at the top of the lift stations. You can then either amble back down or take the lift or gondola back down allowing you some time to relax b y the pool in the afternoon sun.
